Syndrome tells a tale that some Feds would like to hear. "This will be
your first kill. You'll be a real Firestone cop now - KILL THE ASSHOLE".
I may be wrong, but I think at one time or another, and probably several
times during one's career at FPK, we each received a "Commendable Restraint"
atta-boy vs. shooting some dummy that pushed us to the limit. I can think of
situation after situation that I was in that could have ended with some
low-life meeting his Maker. Having been trained and having worked with the
bests damn street cops, sgt's and brass made us capable of making the arrest
vs. taking a life. Yeah, most of those who pushed us to the extreme ended up
902H, but that was their choice. Yeah Bob, I also have mixed emotions, but
Beeler did write, "The Firestone Syndrome as strictly a work of
fiction". Hopefully the Feds will read that part as well. Take care,
